Wax Flow Loop (WP1)

Wax Cold Finger WP1

Techbox Systems Wax Flow Loop WP1 enables wax deposition testing to be performed. The unit comprises switchable ¼” and 1/8″ test coils which are submerged in a cooled water bath.

The dead oil sample is pumped from a sample container positioned on a hotplate stirrer through a pre-heat coil submerged in a hot water bath and then through the cooled test coil and out. The differential pressure across the coil is recorded. As deposits form on the internal walls of the test coil the differential pressure increases. The time taken for this increase is used to perform comparison tests between products.

The unit is completely computer controlled and all data is saved in spreadsheet format.

We specialise in designing and manufacturing bespoke equipment to meet customer’s specific requirements. If you have a requirement for a unit with a higher temperature or pressure please ask.

The wax flow loop enables the effects of wax deposition to be studied in the laboratory environment. The effectiveness of inhibitors can be tested using only a small volume of sample, giving quick and repeatable results.

WP1 Software

The control software enables the user to view all data in an easy to understand format. The graph displays historical differential pressure, whereas the schematic shows flow and temperature information in addition to the pump status.
