Multi Place Cold Finger (CF6)
Available in both Automatic and Manual versions
Techbox Systems cold finger apparatus enables fast and efficient screening of wax inhibitors. The system can test up to six samples at once greatly reducing test times. The unit operates using a “cold finger” submerged in warm test oil. If the cold finger is below the wax appearance temperature of the sample the wax will come out of solution and stick to the cooled surface. This wax can then be quantified by weighing and further analysis performed on the sample if required.

Schematic
The system comprises 6 cold fingers, each individually temperature controlled, within 6 sample bottles. All 6 bottles are submerged in the heated sample bath at a set temperature and stirred using the 6 place magnetic stirrer.
Each cold finger has its own temperature sensor and cold water supply. The computer controls the flow of cold water to maintain each cold fingers unique temperature.
Techbox CF6 Software (Automatic)
The software controls and records the temperature of each of the 6 cold fingers. Each can be individually set. Sample details can be stored alongside the temperature data to assist interpretation. All data is saved in a spreadsheet accessible format.
The system uses easy to understand colour coded piping with easy to disconnect fittings.

As standard, the unit is supplied with 12mm diameter cold fingers manufactured from 316 stainless steel. Each contains a dip tube to aid coolant flow.
Cold fingers are easily removed for weighing and cleaning.

Manual Version
The CF6 manual version is a basic, lower-cost unit. The temperature of each cold finger can be varied using a needle valve on the inlet of each finger. The display unit shows the current temperature of each finger.
